A report of 20 March, 2019 in China Briefing from Dezan Shira & Associates, an international business service firm, describes how the hurriedly rush-through law is a urgent response to mounting foreigner investor concerns about intellectual property protection, forced technology transfer, level-playing field and market access, which lie at the heart of the current US-China trade war.
While the law is a significant step-forward, the report rightly warns of vague and grey areas, the devil in the detail, implementation by local authorities, and the ultimate test of the pudding.
